Interviewer-"So, tell me about your schooling, what schools are on here, what schools did you attend?" Mr. Medrano-I attended the Sam Houston Elementary School [?] today its a K-3 [?] So, I ended up attending that school. 7th grade moving up to [?] middle school which is on campus [?] not far from here [?] less than 10 blocks from here [?] I could not attend [?] because of segregation. We had to got catch the bus, down the street here, two buses, go downtown catch [?] was in a pre-dominant hispanic [?] and I said why can't I attend the school down the street? You know, walk to the school 10 blocks, I could take the bus, but the policy of the school district [?] because of zoning. I said zoning? I'm pretty much 3 miles, 4 miles, 5 miles waiting for waiting for my middle school when i'm 10 miles, well that's where the line of zoning. The boundaries of school board [?] we apparantly knew why cause it was hispanic middle school and the other was a newly constructed anglo-school. We could sense that and know about it you know...
