Interviewer-"What year did you meet the first black person." Mr. Medrano-Oh, now that is when I got started yet about 8 years old, 9 years old. Interviewer-"I thought it was very..." Mr. Medrano-[?] NAAACP, and we went to Juanita Craft was in charge of the NAACP in South Dallas, her house is still there on [?] street, and we went there and she said now Juanita, Pancho you brought your children, yes, ok, you'll go in the back in that garage, back there in the back, the youth, black youth, African American back there and we said, [?] Sir, we brought a family here and we want you'll to work on projects together, what you'll be addressing together, issues, and us adults we're to the front, cause there's work, voter registration, getting people elected. So, while in the living room of hers, it was happening, my brother [?] hold on, we're sitting right there, What project we outta take on , the poor, the homeless, just humanitarian projects. Interviewer-"Right" Mr. Medrano-And we're thinking of, we're not thinking political at that time. And the front room, in the living room, ther're thinking about politics, change it, and we're talking about helping the human hunger, homeless, poverty, that kind of stuff. Wer're [?] It's coming out of creativity, its coming, so, great, but we see, we already know about racism, yea, we're going to operate some white brothers come over here, and that's the first time that we saw Ms. [?] Sanders inside the NAAACP and the former superintendant [?] paid his dues to the NAAACP, but he kept it secret, "Here's my NAAACP membership, on one condition, I don't want anybody to know that I'm in the NAAACP, "We'll take your money, we'll make you a member, you'll be in the [?] but we have no business [?] in the NAAACP, you're a member, but its not upon us that you are a member, thats [?] if they see my name, the're going to ask me if I'm active, but I'm not active. Nolan is the NAAACP superintendant, so at that time. Interviewer-"Yea"...
