Interviewer-"Um, so you graduated high school around 1960." Mr. Medrano-Exactly, [?] 1960. Interviewer-"U, so were there like really assertive, really forceful push for like, these classes on behalf of students, or was it just sort of more like a petition kind of thing, where, um, cause I know there wasn't the word 'walkouts' didn't exist." Mr. Medrano-No, no, already our mind is already set as involved in activism. Interviewer-"Right." Mr. Medrano-In concerns of , cause the 60s were right around the corner here what's happening in Mississippi and Alabama the 60s, your Civil Rights unrest and you know, over here if we don't speak up [?] if you don't speak up in what you want, your needs are never going to be met or you know, I don't want to say your demands, these are the concerns were, so activism was already working within our, our, college bound goal acceptance, so the guys were involved already were kind of had a gifted activism. Interviewer-"So, they were political, they were politiced in where they were already prepared, yeah." Mr. Medrano-Already getting ready to see if we don't get there, we don't get prepared. Intervierwer-"Right." Mr. Medrano We'll never make it the first year of college....
